Mounting Resistance Signals Ethereum Could Soon See Brutal Selloff - newsBTC

- March 21, 2020

Bitcoin and the crypto market have been firmly caught in the throes of immense volatility over the past several days and weeks, with Bitcoin’s sharp swings leading altcoins like Ethereum to follow suit and incur some notable volatility. Ethereum, which recently experienced a strong upswing, has erased a portion of these recent gains, and is now entering what appears to be a bout of sideways trading. One analyst is noting that ETH was able to tap its key high-time-frame resistance at $150 in the course of its recent rally, with its firm rejection here being a grave sign of what’s to come next. Ethereum Sheds Some of Its Recent Gains as Crypto Market Enters Consolidation Phase At the time of writing, Ethereum is trading down just under 7% at its current price of $132, which marks a notable decline from daily highs of over $150 that were set at the peak of the crypto’s recent upswing. This rally first began on Thursday afternoon and marked a resolution to the extended bout of sideways tr...

- November 24, 2020

The PayPal application can be seen on a mobile phone. Felix Kästle | picture alliance | Getty Images Fintech companies are helping fuel demand for bitcoin as they open the floodgates for millions of people to trade it. By one firm's analysis, PayPal and Square clients have been buying the majority of the new bitcoin supply entering the market each day. Hedge Fund Pantera Capital estimates that Square clients have accounted for 40% of bitcoin that enters the market in the two years since the product launched. PayPal may be responsible for even more demand since launching just a few weeks ago. The payment company partnered with crypto firm Paxos for custody and trading. Volume on Paxos' exchange, itBit, had been consistently in the same range since September. But as PayPal went live recently, volumes on the exchange more than tripled, according to data from CoinGecko. Pantera estimated that within three weeks, PayPal clients were already buying roughly 70% of the new...

Bitcoin Price Analysis: Is BTC/USD Technically And Fundamentally Prepared For A Run-up to $7,000? - Coingape

- March 18, 2020

Bitcoin price correlation with the traditional markets early start is worrying. Bitcoin price recovery is likely to continue stalling under $6,000 as it is not fundamentally ready for a rally. Bitcoin price correlation with the stock market is astonishing. Moreover, it has started sooner than it was expected. Many in the cryptocurrency market have been shocked by Bitcoin’s over 40% crash in the last week. The crash was so great that comeback signs were non-existent. Moreover, Bitcoin’s fundamental on-chain metrics have undergone major drastic changes in this period as well. Bitcoin’s volatility index, for instance, overshadowed levels in January and February when the price rallied to $10,500 from around $7,000. Discussions surrounding Bitcoin correlation with S&P 500 have taken center stage across the industry but a report by Kraken suggests that this correlation has been growing since the beginning of the year but has made rapid movements in the last seven days. Tron founder Justin Sun and his many escapes - The Verge

- March 17, 2022

Justin Sun, a budding Chinese cryptocurrency mogul, walked through the shiny lofted atrium of the departure terminal at South Korea's Incheon International Airport. It was September 2017, an early height of the crypto craze, and Sun had every reason to be nervous after his first ICO. An ICO, or initial coin offering, is like an initial public offering for a new stock. It's the first time cryptocurrency traders have the opportunity to buy a brand-new token. But Sun wasn't anxious about the money he stood to gain if it took off or what he'd lose if the token flopped. In fact, his company, Tron, introduced a coin called TRX — a huge success, selling out quickly for $70 million. The problem for Sun was that the Chinese government, just days before, had banned ICOs entirely.  The state claimed ICOs were vehicles for financial fraud, pyramid schemes, and other illegal and criminal activities — a credible claim because, in 2017, hu...
